Today started just like the day before, with Jessica knocking on our tent. I haven’t got tired of it yet but she says that will change as the days pass by. The agenda for today includes potato hill also the night before we heard some scary stories of Sasquatch and also learned not to whistle at night because it’s a bad thing to do, I tried to get an explanation as to why I could and the response was simply “just don’t”. The stories kind of freaked me out a little but we’re going in the day so I’m not too scared. The ride was a little bumpy there and we seen a black bear in the middle of the road! Blog 8 Sunday- July 14 Today we are heading to take David back home, but first a little hike at the old mill district park. We arrived there at around 9:00 am and there was a river that cut in between the hiking trail. Fire station

Blog 5 Wednesday-July 10 Today we got up bright and early to pack up from last night's event, it affected some of us more than others but I felt okay. We were told that we could move our camp to a new location and there was sigh of relief that we didn't have to stay there another night. Our new location is a fire station and we are so grateful to have this opportunity to stay there, the weather is nice and the air is fresh here and it feels like the rest we needed to move forward from yesterday. We got to shower! Finally. Our group was on cooking duty and we made chicken alfredo with a slice of watermelon.

Blog 6 Thursday- July 11 Today we woke up at the fire station and I had the best night sleep I had in a while. Alex and I packed up all our bags and everyone loaded up the van to head out. Before we headed out we met in the fire station with Brad Donahue and he talked about the warm spring Indian reservation. They hire over 200 people during the peak season of firefighting, prescribed fires are another topic we covered. Prescribed fires are big projects here at warm springs and we are going to take a tour to see what the necessary steps are to prescribe a fire. Brad goes on to say they manage over 664,000 acres of land on the reservation, they have a twenty person hot shot crew and they travel to Alaska to fight fires in the summer for a couple months at a time.
